CANTEEN BENEFIT
TICKETS ON SALE
FOR THREE NIGHTS

Tickets now are on sale by members of the Clinton Turner society, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Clinton chapter of the Sustaining Wings of Iowa, for "Turner Canteen," the big revue, minstrel and gym class program to be presented at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 19, 20 and 21, in the Washington Junior High school auditorium as benefit performances for the Clinton depot canteen.

All ticket funds received by the Clinton Turner society, sponsors of the show, will be turned over to the Wings' chapter, which sponsors the canteen, and which will use the money thus obtained for purchasing canteen food for service men and women passing through Clinton on Chicago and North Western trains.

Union stage hands and all others having to do with the "Turner Canteen" are giving their services, in order that there may be no deductions from the funds to be turned over to the Sustaining Wings' group.

Henry Schiget is director of the production, assisted by Howard Borup, glee club director; Mrs. Ethel Warren, pianist; Mrs. Greta Schiget, costuming; Mr. Marian Yealy, painting of scenery; Alfred Holgaard, stage equipment and scenery, and Fred Stampe, ticket chairman.

CONCLUDING TURNER
CANTEEN REVUE SCORES
ANOTHER BIG TRIUMPH

Third and final performance of the "Turner Canteen," benefit revue, under the supervision of Henry Schiget, director of physical education for the Clinton Turner society was given last evening in the Washington Junior High school auditorium and netted money for the Clinton depot canteen fund.

The large audience was thrilled with the splendid gym exhibitions, beautiful costumes worn by the girls and young women, novel electrical effects and elaborate stage setting.

Because of the length of the show there were no encores for the gym exercises and dance groups, even though winsome little Carol Meighan "stole the show" with her feats of acrobat. Soloists and comedians in the minstrel, however, received such hearty applause that they favored with encores.

The Canteen Girls dedicated their song, "I Can Cook Too" to the volunteer workers that serve and assist at the Clinton depot canteen, and the grand finale, a medley of theme songs of the army and navy, was dedicated to the armed forces.

In addition to numbers by the Glee club, directed by Howard Borup, there were solos by Gilbert Henning, Frank Matzen, Jr., Ward Ford, Alice Galbraith, Jeanne Laurent, Marvin Nissen and Robert Matzen.

Speciality numbers included a fast tap number by Molly Neuhaus, whistling solos by Bob Nixon, and selections by the Glee club quartet, Ervin and Dick Nixon, Ray Hein, Sr. and Paul Willis. Mrs. Ethel Hurlbut Warren was the accompanist for the production.
